Flax (Linum usitatissimum), also known as linseed, Is a blue-flowering
plant which is a member of the genus Linum in the Linaceae family. Flax
has been used in food & textiles (linen) for over 30.000 years &
are mostly cultivated in the cooler regions of the world with long
periods of daylight.
Flaxseed's produce one of the oldest commercial oils, a vegetable oil known as flaxseed oil or linseed oil. This oil is a colourless to yellowish oil obtained by cold pressing the seeds of the flax plant.
Flaxseed oil has a variety of health benefits including assisting wound healing. This healing process starts immediately after topical application of the oil. This is due to the beneficial properties ozonated flaxseed oil possesses including inflammation reduction, re-epithelization, granulation tissue formation & the remodelling phase of tissue repair.
Our ozonated oils are produced by trapping ozone (O3) which is reactive oxygen containing 3 oxygen atoms into different oils by using ozone injection. Ozone injection is where highly concentrated ozone gas produced by a medical ozone generator fed by pure medical oxygen is bubbled through a bubbling stone into the oil thus producing microscopic bubbles of ozone. We do this continuously for days on end to form a soothing, highly oxygenated oil. This gives the oil anti ageing & anti-microbial properties that help heal wounds & improve skin conditions. In the early 1900s Nikola Tesla became the first person to market ozonated oil & pharmacies across the world sold it under its commercial name Glycozone.
